mix in some acts of kindness (sugar) and it becomes sweet.

I think I confused myself...

I have given away runes and gold items I did not need to my friends as people in the guild I am in, as well as other friends have given me things. I figure I should pass on the good deeds. An old friend of mine who hasn't been on in months used to spend his days running people to to droknar. He ran me to Grotto and then proceeded to give me 15k to get started on a set. Said to me it was nothing as he made 15k in an hour or so... it still takes me a good week...

To be honest, I never give away items that have great value. I mainly give away alot of minor/major runes, though.

I think i've given away 6k cash, once.

wow, this thread really makes me feel like a greedy jerk

I basically just give stuff to guildies, not so much to random people... and even then, rarely do I give $$$..

Perhaps I need an extra helping of Christmas cheer?

Well on guild wars I must say I am a pretty nice person, I give lots of stuff away. But lately it seems that when I give someone something they just keep asking for more, ex. I gave a guy 2k or sumthin in ascalon so he could buy a guild cape, then he kept on whispering me asking me to give him enough money to buy a hall. I am not going to stop being nice but people like this make me angry.

I've had two really good experiences with nice people.

One time in the CA outpost there was a guy complaining about how much money he had, just to gloat. Jokingly, I told him I'd help him with his money problems. He didn't say anything but someone else just walked up and gave me 10 plat. That made my day.

The other awesome thing happened today. I made a new char to get a flute presearing for a guildie as a joke. When I got postsearing I needed fifty gold to open my storage. I asked if anyone could spare me it. Someone walked up to me and gave me about 6 plat and everything they owned. I managed to salvage a 19% Marksmanship +1 grip off of one of the bows they gave me too.

It's fun while it lasts, but its bound to end in a horrible explosion of pain.....or something like that.

Life is like a hot bath. It feels good while you're in it, but the longer you stay the more wrinkled you get.

As for being kind, I might go on on Christmas day and give away some of the stuff cluttering my storage. I have a bunch of Runes and Grips that I'm never going to sell...

The most I've ever been given is just some crafting material to help me buy armour.

When I first started playing GW I found a black dye. I pair up with a hroup of people doing piken missions and this guy told me he offer me 1k for my black dye. One of his friends whisper me and told me dont do it, you can get 3k from vendor. I got into talking with him and he helped on a lot of earlier missions and invited me to his guild.

On the other hand,I used to just want to get rid of some items and sometimes I trade 20k+ items for maybe 3k or something of that sort just because people need it the items badly enough. This was a couple of months ago, I dont farm too much anymore. Sometimes I just make a pre searing character lvl him/her up to lvl 10-12 and run people thru pre-searing just for the hell of it.

I must agree with you. People should be thankfull they get what they are given.

I never give anything away if asked, I get to know the player a little before I ever give anything away.
